Ok, so this one is the opposite of what my mother is growing.
That last reply didn't come out right. Sorry. Some of these do like wet, sunny conditions, some well drained, but still a good amount of water and more shade. Here in MN, I would probably grow the plant you have in at least part sun. You should probably try more shade. From what I've been finding, all the ones with dark leaves seem to want more shade. I've heard that these do well in a mix of bark and soil. They all seem to like heat and high humidity.
