Very nice and colourful varieties, Luis. I do think they go so well with orchids. We have a lot of these Thai imports here. Have you seen the Plumeria (frangipani) they have ?

Beautiful foliage plants, Luis. I always like to see these mixed into outdoor flower beds here. I have tried a couple next to some hostas, but they never did very well. Too dry and hot I believe.

    Cheers,
    BD

    hello bruce,

thai aglaonemas prefer high humidity and constantly moist growing media, i usually use chopped coconut husk chips which are plenty here mixed with charcoal bits and semi composted rice hull. though they love moisture they hate being waterlogged and wet leaves (wet leaves + cold temp = leaf rot).

also, these plants love being fertilized with slow release osmocote and top dressed with vermicompost, you can see how glossy their leaves when they are healthy and readily gives out shoots.

Beautiful. I've bought a couple of Thai imports. I hope mine will look as nice as yours in the future.

Do these plants prefer shade or can they be planted out in the open?

Luis, I know you said you grow them in pots beside your orchids, but in your region could you grow them planted in the ground as "regular" garden plants? Definitely would make for a 'blast' of color against other foliage plants.
