Also called Sensitive Fern. Not sure why it's called that, but it does seem very sensitive to the least bit of drying out. The foliage turns very crispy and ugly if that happens. I still like it.

I remember something from years and years ago called a Sensitive Plant, where if you touched or thunked the leaf with your finger, the leaf would kind of close down and curl up. Similar maybe?

    Nice though.

You know, the cruel nurseries idea would go right along with the poisonous plants idea--sell the most evil flora known to man.

Really, I think it would be a hit. We should put up a website.

Is it illegal to sell poison sumac or those deadly orange toadstools?

    cruelplants.com

What do you think? The domain name isn't even taken yet. We'd be an original! The kids definitely would be falling over themselves trying to spend the last of their allowances on the most hateful, baneful plants in existence. I mean really: how many adults you know go out and buy tarantulas, scorpions, or those foot-long cockroaches, unless it's for their kids? This would be new and different!

Course, it won't help Kev any with his fern ID.....

I was just thinking "What was this thread about?"

    Oh yes, my fern.

Anyway, love the idea. Do it. Let's try to think of some other neat stuff to put here. Oh yes, stinging nettles. They're so much fun especially when you chew them.

You people talking about poisonous plants and it reminds me of a tuber we call (where I came from) "karots". Its poisonous if consumed in its unprocess state but very edible and delicious if properly processed and cleaned.
