    Oh ! I somehow missed this post. This one here is also a classical example of a floral homeotic mutant, where the stamens have converted to the strange petal like organs.

    Your hibiscus kind of reminds me of candy canes at Christmas...Hey! That would be a good name for it: Candy Cane hibiscus!LOL! Betty :-)

    Actually, I knew the name of this one but have totally forgotten it, Betty. But Candy Cane is as good a name as any. Why not? ;-)

    Thanks for the info Amey. The term "mutant" somehow conjures negative images from all those sci-fi movies. Now you've taught me that mutants can be lovely too. ;-)

    This is a species of Hibiscus called baptistii. I am trying to get my hands on one. ( Like I need more hibiscus LOL I have over 200 of them) I am a new hybridizer of Hibiscus as well. I am making new thread to show you guys my babies.
