I'll have to take everyone's word for the wonderful fragrance. I can't seem to stay awake late enough that I would be able to smell one - with my alarm clock kicking me out of bed at 3:00 a.m., I'm definitely an early-to-bed kind of person. Just wish I could get the whole "healthy, wealthy and wise" part going for me!

WOW! that's cool!! Good Growing. I'd love one of these!
My mum (E.Africa) has one growing up a side of the wall and around an exit door into the garden... (been there about 30+ years) ... I am often lucky enough (every couple years) to witness this blooming and I agree It's fabulous. Thanks for posting! It brings back very pleasant memories.

It is Epiphyllum oxypetalum. A night bloomer. Peniocereus has columnar-shaped stems, as with Cereus, Selenicereus etc... Epiphyllum has flattened 'leaves'/stem, like the christmas cactus, Zygocactus/Schlumbergera..

Thanks again all and especially Li for your confirmation ID on this plant. The other two budds opened the next night. AL
