My melons are a pain , the first one I picked was not ripe enough , the next one was too ripe ,the chickens got it . There is a little curly tendril next to the first set of leaves from the melon , it will dry up when the melon is ripe ... (supposedly) ... I waited to long on mine , it was cooked

Yeah, fried okra. Been to a restaurant where the okra is somehow formed into small clumps, dipped in flour and fried. I thought I was eating fried chicken (it did look like chicken) when I bit into it and tasted something okra-ish and slimy. Not exactly what I was craving...

Lol...Lou was last seen wandering around in the tall weeds in the garden. You never know what is in that stuff. If he doesn't bust his way out with Ms. Tillette, then I am going in after him...

I wish we had some okra! I love the stuff fried and in soup. Lou thinks it is too slimy, but he will eat it when I fry it up. We have some great yellow squash also. I cut them up long ways so that they look like fish and fry them up in corn meal. MMMMM! GOOD!

We have a ton more tomatoes to pick. I keep wondering if lou is going to start giving the away to the people who drop by to purchase orchids. I would not put it past him. That way we don't have to can any more of them.

    Cheers!
