my favorite cactus

    Default my favorite cactus

    taking out the trash this am and was happy to see this guy in bloom, the flowers are only about 2 inches across and the smell is not pleasant, but the cactus is a beautiful blue and the white hair adds to the beauty. I bought it over 20 years ago with no id tag, my only guess would be cephalocereus palmeri, although cactus names get changed around more than
    orchid names

    An attractive flower and very neat looking cactus -- LOVE the hair! Have any day shots? How tall has it gotten?

    thanks it is about 6 to 7 feet tall, a very slow grower but bloomed young and is prolific with flowers in summer too bad they kinda stink. I'll try to get a day shot tomorrow

    Oh wow! That is as tall as me?? lol Too cool! I love seeing a nice cactus garden, but i'd not seen your "hairy" type yet. Thank you for sharing that one.
