Great colours... wish mine would do something other than nothing...
Not sure how I missed this the first time around, but ditto to Tim's post! Great job on those Gin!
Thanks all , They are still in bloom , also the alien looking one I posted a picture of last time it bloomed . Gin
These are beautiful. Can you tell me where I can go to learn how to cut off babies and transplant them? I have 5 about 18 inches tall ready to do somethng with.
Are they in the pot alongside the original plant ? or hanging out in mid air from the original plant ?If in the pot the kids are the ones that will bloom , the original plant will die off in time .You can seperate some of them ...divide .
The other type offsets will also bloom but I don't know if the main plant dies or not , I have one that grows like that and the original plants is still going .
I don't know where you live , it might be better to wait till spring . Sorry, I don't know a lot about them , maybe someone that has more info. will post Gin
From what I understand, the parent plant will die off once the "pup" can sustain itself. My bromiliad is still going (the bloom has since dried up and is done) and I don't have a pup yet on it....I am getting a little concerned. I have my tilandsia which does have a pup developing even brfore it has gone into bloom.
It will make one or more , sometimes it takes quite awhile , my original plant will still have leaves next summer , they go a little at a time . I have a couple that keep the original plant for a long time .. No worries about yours Gin
