Talking Yippee my paph landmark is spiking!

I noticed a spike on my paph landmark that we affectionately call Hoss. It is a very fast growing spike if I do say so myself.

I know ya'll know how this is. I'm soooo excited, talking to Hoss, guarding him, watering and making sure he is not disturbed. Everyone else thinks I'm nuts.

That is all except the two friends I gave a cattelya to and they killed them within a month now THEY are in awe but I knew ya'll would understand the excitement of any type of sanderianum blooming. Woohoo!

A guy named, Hoss with a fast growing spike is certainly worthy of pictures! Hope they make it past the editorial board!

    Default Paph Landmark

Well ok.... it's almost like showing off pictures of the kids lol.

As far as I can tell it is spiking with two buds. Here is our Paph Landmark or Glaucophyllum x Sanderianum or more affectionately Hoss.

    Cool Paph Landmark

I most definately will. I'll take pictures along the way. I'm wondering when it will open. I have a cruise to go on 3/12 for 7 days. It better NOT open up while I'm gone. I also have the dubious job of finding someone to babysit Hoss and his 100+ friends that he hangs out with

I don't think you have to worry about him blooming before you get back from the cruise. He's still in very early spike. As for finding someone who can care for your plants, - well I travel a lot and although my cat sitter also waters my 'chids, that's about all you can expect. (I'm up to about 120 - 130). I did lose a couple do to lack of attention, but they were either recent divisions or plants that were very susceptible to drying out. Think about a way to set up your plants to make them easier to water, don't worry about moving them away from the light source for just a week. Enjoy your cruise, and hope to see Hoss in all his glory!
