    Hi Robert,
At the beginning of Februar I openened the only remaining seedpod, and sowed the seeds on 4 different mediums. On first sight I did not see any embryo's. When I finished the sowing, I decided to look to the remaining seedpod under the microscope in order to see if there were really no embryo's in it. In fact I did not see any except for a tiny little green ball without coat. So I already worked myself through the disappointment of waiting a few months and ending with nothing at all. Until yesterday........ I had a very busy time, so I did not throw away the bottles with the non-viable seeds I made that evening.
Yesterday evening I had to make some room for replates I made and I picked out the bottles with the Phalaenopsisseeds. Much to my surprise two of them had green spots. I looked with the microscope and discovered germinated seeds in various sizes!!!! It was a wise lesson: never throw away anything until you are absolutely sure that really nothing will grow. ( same thing happened with seeds of Lycaste skinneri: after 9 months I got 4 growing protocorms, but exactly one year later on the same medium 12 new protocorms grew.
What a lovely hobby we have, full of surprises.

Amey, thanks for the nice words. I'm still very new to plant culture and still have much to learn.

cultured plants are ready to be taken out . I took out some nepenthes and the phal hybrid to try out. since they need to be harden the phal was tied to coconut husk and water, kept in cool shade. The nepenthes potted up covered with plastic caps. so far they are doing fine. I should know what to do before they are finally introduced to the natural elements.
