Was wondering if any of you have any experience with flasking Paphiopedilums. I have seed pods forming and have heard you have to go to extreme measures to get them to germinate. Any and all help would be appreciated.

I don't know of any labs myself as I have no intention of trying to flask a seed pod, but I do know there are professional labs that flask seed pods for a living. Doing it yourself is quite a task and requires ultimately a sterile environment in the flask.

I just read that you have taken a class on it. Good luck. Like Chris, I am too old to hope to see flowers if it was successful.

Thanks 78Terp. But to hire a lab would take all of the fun out of it. I'm not a spring chicken myself, but if I don't get to see them bloom, then someone somewhere will. Keeping busy keeps us young. And you are never too old to learn something new.

Its a tough job to germinate any orchid and flowering them is anywhere 6-8 years. Professional flasking is a good suggestion
