Default Lighting for Seeds

I have my seeds under a 60 watt grow light. Is that too strong for them?

Depending on the genera it may not be too strong for them.Really the only way is to find out the 'foot candles/Lux' that they require and then get a light meter to measure the light at the given distance .If the seeds are from the Odontoglossum alliance they require 280-305 foot candles at 17.5 inches
