The parent plant of the Psychopsis is an award plant that what the little white lable read.

Q: Are you sure the plant didn't get a selfing?

A: no, because i am the one that stuck both pollens into the Psychopsis

I'm with Fren (aka Smartie). I'd have to look at the chromosome counts between Catts, Den, and Psychopsis, but I don't think they're compatabile. So, you've got a pod and there's no way of knowing one of the parents. I'd also suggest you somehow carried Psychopsis pollen onto the column, even though you were trying to cross with Catt and Den pollen. The Catt and Den pollen simply wouldn't do anything.

The other possibility is the plant's confused and grew a pod, but it doesn't contain any seed with viable embryos.

I think Julie is right about the un-viable seed..

But it sure would be cool to see a psychopsis x Catt cross

Very interesting. I hope you find out soon if such a cross was made.

Anyways there is a strong chance of unviable embryos as Julie stated and if there are viable embryos the offspring maybe infertile, so progeny stops there. There will be a low yield of seedlings.

I want to mention that plants that are paph x phrag were registered, but pictures of them suggest these were false claims to most people. And the pictures I've seen look like these plants were purely paphs, no trace of phrags genes at all so I don't even know how they got registered

this could be possible because the two pollen from the psy i put on into the cat and the other into the den. However both cat and den didn't product and seed pod and both flower dropped. I am possitive that the is no selfing in this seed pod

Hi Bluemoon,
You need to cover the pod by a coffee filter like I did to avoid a sudden bust which can loose seeds. see my thread picture:
http://www.rv-orchidworks.com/orchid...ly-bursts.html
I believe it will bust tomorrow or next day. Wait for a few day to make sure that it complete matures and send it to me. You cover it by a coffe filter and put it in a carton box, NO zip/nylon which increases humidity could get easy contamination. Bluemoon assigns me to sow seed. I just buy and prepare 3 medium: Knudson C, P668, and my homemade formula. Ready to rumble. Wish bluemoon and me luck. Welcome my new partner, new company, hihihi, just kidding.. Will report what going on.

I would give you the name of a good lab, but that is against the rules.
