Default What the heck is it ?

I was given this plant about 7 years ago from a friend that is not longer with us he did not know what it was . I always thought it was an Oncidium gave it a lot of light and it did nothing , got disgusted and put it in a shaded area and this showed up it has several of them the plant is the one in the basket . it probably is a species . If the what ever gets larger I will post another picture . Any guesses welcome .. Gin

No clue. Its sure is cool though! If I had to guess it looks like some sort of new growth, like a branch or stem. Looks like a bunch of leaves growing really closely together and will space out as it grows. I hope some has better than my (un)educated guess!!!

Well, it's not dill, chives, or parsely. Keep us posted on the development.

I think it could be Cymbidium lancifolium, a specie that has a stem-like psuedo bulb. If I am right then those are buds. Hard to tell from the pictures, do you have a shot of the whole plant?

Gin, the plant itself looks like it might be some type of pleurothallid - maybe a cool growing one since it likes the shade?? The 'bloom' thing looks like a succulent or something. I wonder if it is a keiki?

Good luck figuring this one out!

    Cheers,
    BD
