No wonder blooming phals are seen being sold all year round. I wonder if the practice also applies to dendrobiums? Here in HK, blooming dens together with the phals are being sold all season.Originally Posted by lja
For whatever it's worth, I used a balanced time-released fertilizer (Dynamite? or something) for the first time in April. It's easy enough to use (once every 6-8 months) and several of my phals have grown nice tall spikes (18+ inches & some with two spikes). There are about 4-5 more that have just started spiking, so it's too soon to tell how big they'll get. And I used it on an Earth Star that I got in bloom in April, and the thing is still making new buds. So far, I can't complain...
