    Default Keiki Update

I've posted pics of this plant with its keikis. As you can see the roots are well on their way and when the weather warms in April and leaves begin to grow, I'll set them on their own. My question is: In your humble opinion, would gently wrapping the roots in sphag and misting to increase the moisture at these new roots be helpful not only in maintaining them but getting them to grow more? Your Thoughts, Please.

I have four keikis on two different Phals that started growing around October 08...till now not a sign of a root. They all have three leaves each. They are just driving me crazy. As a test, I wrapped one of them using sphag and held it in place with dental floss I spray it nearly every day. This was a month and a half ago but till now, no change.

I think basically, they take their own time in growing roots or leaves. We have to be patient.

    Good luck!

Once the roots start developing...I put a few sprays of water on them every morning or if my hands were wet I'd put a few drops on their tips. They began growing much faster. On really warm or windy days I may even do it twice.

I'm not sure that would help. They seem to grow 'when they grow'. Patience.

I have been dabbing the keiki that has not developed roots yet , for about two weeks now. I dab with a wet Q-tip usually early in the morning . I checked yesterday for any possible signs of roots and there is a couple of bumps that are starting to form . Yeah .

No Paul, this is a peloric that got crown rot and as I'm sure you know these keikis have saved the plant...now if I can only remove them and get them off on their own....
