    Default Keiki?

I've been babysitting this dend. It hasn't changed any in months. I'm surprised the leaves never fell off like the other orchids. And nothing has grown. I was wondering if this thing on it is a keiki...

It's a phalaenopsis type dendrobium so the leaves don't fall off and that is a new growth. Congrats!

A new growth is what can produce a spike? I still get confused by the parts and terms. So I shall just leave this alone and be patient for something to happen

Niki, the new growth on this Dendrobium phalaenopsis will grow to look just like the large cane with the leaves next to it. The inflorescence (AKA spike) will come out the top. The brown stem on the large cane is the remains of its inflorescence.

Also, these like to dry out between waterings, like bright light and tight pots.
