I tried hard not to move the camera but this is the best of the lot.

One of my Phal's developed a Keiki back in early November. I cut it from the mother plant with two roots close to 2inches long. not to long after potting it it spiked. My question do I let it bloom or should I cut it off to give strength to the plant? The name of the plant is Brother Little Yellow Joy

The other plants are new for me I bought them on Valentines Day.
The small Whit w/red lip is Little Sunny and the other Red Purple is Jet Green Mantenfon 524.

It is always fun to have a new spike, but if its roots are only two inches long and it is no longer attached to its mother plant, then cut the spike and let the plant grow roots and leaves. JMHO

That was my gut feeling but it's not easy to cut off buds if there is another way.
    Thanks,

Larry, it really is your choice. I would personally remove the spike so that the plant would put its efforts into new growth. Leaving the spike on *may* not hurt the plant, but it will not help it. At least that is my feeling.

Why not wait a few days and see what others think before removing the spike.

    Cheers,
    BD
