    Tanya, can you describe five spice powder? It was called for in a recipe I made not that long ago; I didn't know what it was and certainly didn't have any, so I left it out...

    5 Spice combines the classic blend of star anise, pepper, fennel seed, cinnamon and cloves with traditional onion, garlic and ginger.

    I was thinking just today that we should put a cooking section in here.... Cooking with orchids????

    That 5-spice sounds hella-awesome. I'm going to have to try that.

    Maybe DH would join this group if we have a cooking section, now that he is the househusband, I don't cook anymore .

    Hydroleca boy seems to know something about spices .

    Liz, ditto what Uncasteeb says about 5 spice powder. It smells wonderful, to me at least. I use it as a seasoning when I'm making a dip for steamed chicken.

    Wait a minute..... aren't we suppose to be talking about a nicked phal root here ??
