John, just an off topic note. I hope you and your orchids are doing okay during this ridiculous heat wave. I just realized that you're in Riverside, and it's hot enough here in W. Hollywood. I thought I came to California to escape the heat!! And no, I didn't bring it with me. It was delightfully cool when I got off the plane Sunday night......... hmmmmmm... do you think it followed me? If so, it can go right on back where it came from.

Continuing on the off topic, Anne, I think the weather is supposed to cool down on Thursday. We had weather in the 60s for almost the entire month of June, so we were due for the 90 degree temps. I ordered some orchids on Sunday, so hopefully they don't bake in transit.

When we anticipate really hot days, I water the plants heavily in the morning and it keeps the plants hydrated enough to last the entire day.

If necessary, I also run the misters longer than usual to really fog up the greenhouse.

It gets crazy during the summer over here. We can hit daytime highs around 110F but then it dips into 70F at night.
So I guess some of the orchids that like large diurnal fluctuations are enjoying it in summer and are spiking like crazy.

Ok, 5 of the 6 winners have confirmed that they would like to receive the plants.
I'm still waiting for winner #6 to confirm.

So everyone check your PM's - you could be the winner already.

The plants will be packed and shipped sometime after July 27, depending on my work schedule.
