Default Be Careful What You Wish For

You know that old adage that says, "be careful what you wish for." Well, last night I couldn't sleep, and was feeling a bit sad that the ramble had been canceled, and I hadn't bought a new orchid in awhile. So, I got online, and bought myself a Wilsonara Pacific Passage 'Rocket Burst.' There is some debate if that name is correct though, because upon googling for more info, I found a site that called it Wilsonara Pacific Passion 'Rocket Burst.' Oh well, a rose (or orchid in this case) by any other name..... hehehe It's a compot with nine plants in it!!!

And then I was drooling over a Zygonisia Cynosure 'Blue Birds' after seeing the shot NataliWind posted from her trip to the Redlands show. Problem was I have bills that are needing paying. Well, I decided to take one more look at my checking account, and low and behold, the new $250 recovery money was there in my account, so I went ahead and ordered this beauty. My decision was whether to buy a single, or a compot with three. I opted for the BS single. It too will be on the way next week, after the long holiday weekend.

Oh, but I'm not quite through yet........ Because I was up til about 3:30 a.m., I got to sleep late this morning, and before I was even out of my jammies, my landscaper rang the bell and handed me these.

It's called Blc. Owen Holmes 'Mendenhall' AM/AOS X Blc. Plum Pretty 'Black Magic'

No blooms on them right now, but I've seen a photo, and it's magnificent.

So, all my wishing has now put me in the position of trying to figure out where I'm going to put all of these. LOL Don't worry though... I shall find a place!!! Guess I'd better get out and get some pots and supplies, huh?

Actually Connie, I have two big, beautiful new book case type shelves to put some of them on. I'm going to run out of room pretty quick though at this rate. The three plants that Letty brought me this morning alone will fill one or more of the shelves.

Tabobong, not sleeping is what got me into this fix to begin with.

LOL Anne yes insomnia is bad for the pocket as I have found out, many of my orchids have been ordered either late night or early hours of the morning when i cant sleep. It is dangerous to be awake at night, wait change that as far as orchids go it is dangerous to be awake at all!!! Stunning choices and I hope that you get them to you very soon, happy and ready to perform beautifully for you. The gifts off the landscaper are wonderful and I hope they are very happy with you also.

It must be something in the air, Anne, I have been out of control as far as orchid shopping lately
... but I actually feel no guilt at all about it ...
As soon as I get the plants, the shopping spree feels SO justified ...

Oh Anne! I kinda know how you feel!

I want to snag your landscaper. I could use a few of those!

I got a juvenile nuns orchid last week. It will probably take 2 or 3 years before they bloom but the leaves on those babies are so pretty, now I'm searching high and low for more of them.
