    Unhappy Messed up phal. flower

I am dissapoited in the flowering of this NOID phal that I got to bloom. I bought it about one year ago, it had an absolutly perfect flower, although many of the buds blasted.

Now it has three flowers open. The first flower was normal but not as good as a shape as when I bought it, but now 2 flowers have deformed petals that sort of cover the top of the lip.

I have no idea why, it was grown under lights untill the spike got too tall, just like the other phal's that I have flowered which didn't have any deformaties. Not like it was grown under any different conditions.

Here is a link to the flower it had when I bought it last year. (I already posted it here)

Sorry about that Hopefully it will be better next time. Maybe the heat from the light was the cause?

    Cheers,

I've never used SuperThrive and I use nearly no fert. in the winter. I think I took a pic of the first "normal" (but not the best ever shape) flower-the first to open. I will post it when I find it.

With phals...I think they are being over-crossed. I've noticed the strange blooms on some of mine and wondered why they do that. I guess when you are dealing with genetics you can get strange things.
