Default 3 weeks of stress Orchid shopping spree

    Cheers,

This past 3 weeks have been very busy with work, and also has been a very stressful 3 weeks.
So to relieve stress, the wife and I bought new chids weekly. I dont remember the order of
which we acquired the orchids but here is the list of what we have got.

    1. Phychopsis papilio
    2. Phalaenopsis philippinense
    3. Spathoglottis plicata
    4. Aeriedes jarkiana
    5. 3 x Ascocentrum miniatum
    6. Dendrobium setigerum, with 6 pods.
    7. Phalaenopsis doritis
    8. Phalaenopsis stuartiana
    9. Phalaenopsis intermedia
    10. Phalaenopsis equestris
    11. Paphiopedillum Hsinying Citron Alian
    12. Vanda sanderiana
    13. Vanda Jao Phaya Sapprie Varut Rew Prad
    14. Tricoglottis philippinensis "dark"
    15. Oncidium White Angel
    16. Cattleya NOID,
this has got to be my favorite, we got his yesterday, there was no fragrance when we got it.
but this morning when we woke up we have this very strong floral fragrant in the house. The pic
is not doing it justice. Can someone give me a good guess as to what it is? personally I'd
    call it "Precious".

And about 1 dozen Dendrobium NOIDs

The photos are of the following
    1. Phychopsis papilio
    2. Vanda Jao Phaya Sapprie Varut Rew Prad
    3. Vanda sanderiana
    4. Ascocentrum miniatum

Clearly I need more stress in my life--just to justify an orchid shopping spree. Those are some great plants. Good for you.

Oh, wow, I have a crush on that spotted catt. Such a neat mix of colors! "Precious" sounds like a great name to me -- it sure is.

Edit: might that be Cattleya Green Emerald? Google around for pictures -- people say it's fragrant & theirs look very similar to me.

i will try to post more pix later. thanks.

    lambert
thanks, there should also be a brassia there, but we decided not to get it as it was not
    healthy looking.

yeah, that long name vanda is a mouthful to pronounce, and also a hard time to spell
they have to more varieties of that, a dark blue one, and a gold one. i really am suspicious with the name though.

    cindi
thanks for id, i was told about the same thing also, i think i'll label as Blc Waianae Leopard "precious"
    hehe.

    BD
    thanks

    sadie
thanks. who would have thought that stress can be a good thing?

    victoria
thanks, im sure you'll be able to find one in your area. i'll google for the Green Emerald.

yesterday i finally have found time to repot them (at least most of them), and geez,
was that a stress reliever too. From mixing the media (coco peat, perlite, charcoal, coco chips)
to cutting those dead roots, that has been a very relaxing day for me. and today, i got to
take a leave from work. Yehey.

Also this morning, that strong fragrant scent of the cattleya is all over the living room. Its like
its own way of greeting us a good morning as well. We could have gotten lots more if i hadn't been too much
picky, as i wanted to avoid getting noids as much as possible.

Thank you all, so the next time you feel your in too much stress, try getting more orchids, it worked for me.
