Default New 'chids & a few questions.

Well i have a replacement for the Paph Gary Romagna i killed with love. It,s slightly smaller but looks in tremendous condition.
I also bought a Den nobile var albiflorum , it was 25% more money for a large 1 so i thought "Oh yes it,ll probably be 12" high instead of 11 1/2" high".
    Well it,s in a 8" pot has 3 canes 33" high , 2 that are slightly smaller & 2 new fully leafed about 24" high & it,s covered in flowerbuds .
Question is do i start watering & feeding now ?
Also do i stop the "cool" treatment ?
I expect the answer is yes to both.
Also bought a seedling Miltissia & Wilsonara.
    A Den ochreatum ( about 10" tall)
Also a Den atroviolaceum this is small but has new growth.
Any cultral tips for the 2 Dens would be appreciated.

Well i,ve decided to put the Den nobile in my west facing living room window , it does stay pretty cool here & doesn,t get to much light.Hopefully this will help to keep the flowers on longer.I,m just going to dampen the medium every day or 2 first thing in the morning with just rainwater.I,ll start watering/feeding properly when new growth starts.
    A piccie.

I,ll start watering/feeding properly when new growth starts.
That's exactly it. They're going to need a rest after blooming, so let them be your guide. When new growth does start, keep them evenly damp and fertilized regularly. On the nobile types here, I let them dry off between waterings during the 3 month cool spell, and again, they guide the timing: leaves on a cane will go entirely yellow and start to drop off, almost all at once. That's my signal to cut back on the water and fertilizer. They'll do absolutely nothing while they're cold, and then, suddenly, buds will start to form all up and down the length of the canes. That's when I water and fertilize them a little more frequently, waiting until spring has really set in and the plant is in active growth to water and fertilize full-strength.

Here are some pics--not the best in the world; it's dark out and I had to snap these in the GH with flash--but you can see where the buds are growing and flowers have bloomed along the nodes of the canes.

And, btw, congrats on your new purchases! Those dendrobiums will make one helluva show...
