    Default ceiling fan enough?

I don't see any mention of ceiling fans. Probably cause most everybody's grow areas are larger than mine I wouldn't even consider mine a 'grow area'. I have a few orchids & other plants (never more than 10) in my bedroom. I'm in the slow process of redoing my room. I have to replace the ceiling fixture and I have the chance to put in a ceiling fan. Would this create enough air flow for the orchids to make it worth the purchase? They will not be directly under the fan. Currently I am using a small oscillating fan.

I don't have a ceiling fan picked out yet. But my room is about 1273 cubic feet. To be honest I hadn't heard of the term CFM before and just now looked it up.

I have a ceiling fan directly over the orchid benches upstairs. It will evaporate water faster, so you may need to water more often. I'm using semi-hydro, so that works fine for me and I think increases he humidity in the area.

We have celing fans in our greenhouse and they work great. We keep them on high. For the winter I also add a lower oscillating fan to move the air around under the benches to make sure the heat is spread around the greenhouse.

    Cheers,
    BD

Good decision, just like what I did. It is better because they did not only direct the flow of air, but also it can reduce dirt around your orchids. However, it depends on the capacity of your ceiling fan.
