Had to vote for using an orchid glued to my head - the challenge of keeping it alive was just too hard to resist!

NOW…. which orchid to use……… Have to see which one goes best with brown eyes…..

As great as it sounds to mount an orchid to my head I have to consider the damage that can occur in my sleep (would hate to harm the orchid). So I will opt for the wig instead. Even my animals know that if they mess with my plants they get put out.

Here's some other interesting orchid trivia:

There is a shootless orchid called Harrisella porrecta in Florida.

A 15-20 million-year-old fossil of orchid pollen attributed to Meliorchis was found on a stingless bee (I think in 2007). And in 2009 macrofossils (fossil leaves) were found of Dendrobium and Earina that dated to 20-23 million years ago.

Hexalectris nitida is a completely fungus-dependent orchid.

There is an orchid that is considered an underground orchid called Rhizanthella gardneri that is found in Australia.
