    Default No sheaths on Cattleya?

I have a BLC King of Taiwan that bloomed last year on two growths. This year it has 5 new growths but none of them have a sheath. Anyone know what is up with that? I fed it like normal and it's getting enought light that it's leaves have that nice red ting to them.

Catts don't always produce a sheath. When you say red tinge, just how red? It might be getting too much light.

The color looks just about right. Other catts, rhynco., and such are doing fine. It's just this guys that decided to do this.

My Lc. Mildred Rives has some PB's with sheaths and others without. All are producing buds though. Is it a seasonal bloomer and is it it's time of year?

It's time of year is summer. Last year it had sheaths with tiny buds starting around May. I guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope that no sheaths does not equal no blooms.

It's still a bit early. You could get lucky.
