Default recently purchased the orchid in the attached photo

I have an interest in orchids and have been attempting to grow orchids for several decades now. I recently purchased the orchid in the attached photo but it had no label and I have no idea what it is. If someone can help identify it I would greatly appreciate it. The blossom is approximately 1 inch in diameter.

Welcome to the forum. It is a reedstem Epidendrum, probably a hybrid of some variety. The seller may be able to give you some information about the vendor they purchased from. These are generally easy to grow. They like bright light. It looks beautiful, and I hope it grows well for you.

Welcome. That one is an Epidendrum . Not sure about the specific name though. These epidendrums are usually referred to as reed epidendrum, a reference to the physical appearance of the plant. They are related to cattleyas.

I agree with Brandon and Yew, you have an Epidendrum there. These enjoy high light and like to dry out between waterings.

    cheers,

Thanks for the identification! Sounds as if I should have very good luck with this one.
