    Question Chlorine from pool hurtful??

I would like to put my orchids outside since it is starting to warm up. I am looking into putting them inthe covered patio ( 1/2 is covered with screen, teh other half with aluminum). My problem is that we have a pool in the patio, and before I put them out there, I need to know if the evapurated pool water will hurt them any? Thanks!

Tracy, it can be detrimental in an enclosed location if the chlorine has no way to dissipate. Outside though--even covered, I imagine you still get a breeze through there--you should have no problem.

My parents have their orchids out on their lanai (screened/roofed pool patio for non-Floridians) and they've had no troubles.

Pheww! At first I thought you were gonna water them with pool water
The chlorine or acid that comes off will not do any damage to orchids or any other plant that I have seen. I have worked on several houses with indoor pools and huge plants near them.
