Probably, but I think I block those memories out.

Last year I tried to free a stuck spike on a Milt and broke it. This year the same thing happened and I just left it alone. It looks like it's freed itself. Maybe I am learning.

oh u know, i break just about everything, if it ain't new growth, it's spikes and if it ain't that, well, let's just say, if it's there, I would probably at some point break it...

The good thing is, I have the memory of a goldfish, so I forget without even trying woo hoo

remember if it ain't dead there's still the next growth, and u only have a year to wait, mind u, I am sure I rotted a new growth off a cat once and i took that off and a few weeks later it sent off a new growth...

    fingers crossed aye.

    Cheers
    Tim

I haven't (yet--but I'm sure it'll happen grrrr) broken a new growth, but I *have* broken at least two spikes and a bloom off another spike. It's devastating. I definitely feel your pain.

    In sympathy (and virtual empathy),

Don't worry - I intentionally threw an orchid across the room last week (it wasn't a favorite.) Actually, two were involved, but the Sharry Baby is unkillable and just bounced.

I was watering and set my cane by the table while I hobbled back to the window to grab a plant in each hand. I'm not too great without a crutch or cane yet, but watering often requires both hands. I was lumbering back out from behind the table and tripped over the cane. I was terrified of falling (having heard all the horror stories of knee replacements having to be redone). I threw the orchids so that I could free my hands and catch myself on nearby furniture (which luckily worked.)

Needless to say the catt on the floor was separated from its pot and the potting mixture was everywhere! I'm very fortunate to have patient friends (one of whom stopped by a short time later and cleaned up my entire mess!)

I'm viewing broken spikes and buds as a cost of doing businesss. Flying pots now freak me out more. (Flying me freaks me out the most!)

    OK, I'll stop complaining.
