Default what's up with these phal orchid blooms?

This is one of my new phals that I just couldn't resist bringing home. I got it at a local boxstore. My question is about the flowers. I picked this one b/c the flowers looked like they weren't opened all the way but this wasn't the only plant like this and I have had it for about 2 weeks and the flowers haven't changed any, like they are opening more. It's a NOID but I am just wondering if anyone can give me some insight as to why the flowers are like this being as I am fairly new to this whole orchid obsession- which it is quickly turning into...lol!

The flowers are peloric (petals look similar to the lip). Some peloric flowers look like this and don't open their petals all the way.

I don't usually care for peloric, but your flowers are beautiful. Love the soft pastel shade, the gorgeous orange lip and the freckles/stripe patterning.

Thanks for the help! I knew that there was something unique about it but didn't know the what or the why. The pastel color and subtle striping is what drew me to it as well, along with the "uniqueness" of the flower shape.
