Default how to coax root growth on keiki

I have phal with a little keiki - 3 leaves - I wonder if there is a way to coax the growth of roots on the keiki or I have to wait further and for how long, I wonder? The reason why I am anxious is because the plant is basically dead with no more leaves and the main growth is destroyed by rot so I am hoping to cut this keiki soon to 'ressurect' the phal I like a lot.

    Thanks.

Some are very slow to start roots , you might try some of the root starter powder mixed with a very tiny bit of vasaline on a tuft of cotton stuck to the base below the leaves of the keiki . This is off the wall but I have picked green willow buds made a paste with a small amount of water and applied it .If you type in Plant Hormones Canada there is a place that sells rooting hormones for orchids , but it would probably take to long to get it . Hope this helps a little . Gin

    Chung Shih,

I've found an excellent way to boost a keiki's root growth is to give it what it wants - water it!

Spray it or stick it in the shower and when those wee roots feel water they'll grow their darndest.

Gin (or should I say Teuquila?),

Who's drinking those margaritas? You or the plant?

is there a danger in doing this root promotion thing too early? there are only 3 tiny leaves, the largest is only slightly more than an inch long.

i think i will start with the spraying with water method first.

    thanks.
