This masdie, Confetti (M. strobelii x M. glandulosa) - species of course, was purchased 4/24 (same day as Dtps.) from a grower in CT. It is potted in a mix of sphag, and ? twigs (What IS that btw? ) It is in a 1.5" pot, which I put inside a 2" pot, lined with wet sphag - fungus gnats arose. So, I just a week ago, removed it from the outer pot. It was at this point that it started drying out better. It is very wee. Has maybe 8 leaves? The spike is thinner than a toothpick, but it has developed a pretty good size bud. Its in the same window as everything else, but back away from the direct sun.

Thanks, Heather! So, you have a hybrid and not a species, so it actually may be a little easier to grow and bloom. It sounds like it was staying too wet and attracted those tiny pests. Did it come spiked or it spiked in your care? I wish mine would spike soon, I have never seen one in bloom.

Get a camera soon, I would love to see your plants.

My care - spiked just last week. And new leaf today. My other one, Angel Tang, put up a new leaf at the same time.

I bought mine a couple of years ago and it is too stubborn to bloom. You're obviously doing something right to make them bloom in your care.

I have seen pics of Angel Tang and what a beauty!

I have to be honest - when I read a post on another forum of someone who had bought Confetti from the same vendor, and mentioned that is was growing and spiking rapidly, it jumped on my wish list!

It didn't hurt that the vendor was at the Amherst Society show soon after, in April, so I was able to pick it up there. It is so teeny! I can't wait to see the flower.

    Heather,

You seem to have very good luck with getting plants in spike or ready to spike.
