    lol@compact disk.

i use lava in my humidity trays, it gives up water at a reasonable rate.

cypress, cedar, ipe, teak...all discourage fungus to some degree, and live with water a long time....

    nice growing.

I was kind of wondering about the salt buildup, but I've heard so many people rave about this stuff I really wanted to give it a try. The other thing I took into consideration was that for 6-7 months out of the year I water with rain water which should help with any concerns about salts. When the plants are outside, I also change my watering technique. Instead of spraying, they get water poured through the pot. If we have a warm summer, this will probably happen every day.

I hope it is one of the pesty AOL. disks About salt build up, wouldn't it build up in bark and other things anyway, only not as visiable . There is a product that the hydroponic growers use to remove Fert. salts from pellets , I tried it ,and it did not seem to do a lot .I would not worry about it, could just dump out the loose stuff and replace it with new . I did over water a plant in lava rock the rocks were holding more then I thought they would . Gin
