    Default Cymbidium spike?

Hello everyone. This summer I decided to expand my collection, since I only had phals, so I bought a paph and a cymbidium. To my surprise, both of them are preparing something nice for me.
The paph I'm sure it's flowering, but I'm not so sure about the cymbi. What do you say, is it or is it not a spike?

Flowers for sure. Do you know what color they are? Now the wait for them to open. That is the hardest part of seeing spikes form, the wait. Enjoy the flowers...

Hm, I actually think that Cymbidium just has new growth. That looks like the new growth on both of mine - though I never managed to flower one, so who knows.

agreed, see how the leaves are splitting? it also seems flat, and not round like a flower spike should be. Sorry all you guys but im sure its a new growth. however, depending on size of the plant, it could mean that you will have twice as many flowers! GOOD LUCK

I am going with the cymbidium spiking. Spikes on cymbidiums usually have small pseudo leaf shaped growths up the spike. My cymbids currently have the same growths developing and they look the same as the spikes that developed this time last year did at this stage of developement. Good luck and besure to show us pics of the blooms.
