    Default Prolific Slipper

I checked my Slipper over when I watered this week and found 4 new buds on it!! It did take short breather after blooming non-stop for nearly a year. Just long enough to re-pot it! It never ceases to amaze me.

I want to know too! Anything that will bloom like that I would love to have. It must be very happy with your care.

It's a PAPHIOPEDILUM I think, it was a rescue from the nursery and nearly dead when I got it...This is what it will look like...The photo of these blooms was taken in September 2010. The last bloom, the one that is not yet opened in the picture, fell off on Friday, 2/18.

It lives on the window sill above the kitchen sink. It gets lots of steamy air from the sink and the dishwasher. Seems to like that spot! I moved another orchid that was having problems to the same window sill and it's putting out some new growth now. Must be the perfect conditions for an orchid!

The flowers are beautiful. I just love green orchids. I wonder if this is a Paph lawrencianum which would account for it liking the 'hot steamy air'.
