Beautiful phals! Love the colors. NOID means No Identification.

    Cheers,

Hi and welcome, BarbaraD. I must say for a newbie you are very discerning in your choice of these phalaenopsis. They are gorgeous ID or NOID. I have seen similar plants (compact/mini phalaenopsis) offered at one of our shows and they were all imported from Taiwan. The first (bronze-coloured) looks like Asconopsis (Ascps) Jiaho's Orange or if it has a slight fragrance Phal Ming-Hsing Yellow Boy. I'm more inclined towards the Ascps. The second could be Doritaenopsis (Dtps) Yu Pin-Natsuma. However, one can never be sure of ID especially with phalaenopsis with all the complex crosses made with them in Taiwan and now in Southern China.

I agree with Yew above; these phals are gorgeous, and I would like to have them too ID or NOID

i was told with phals, just make up a name, there are so many hybrids that you would be long overdue for a visit from the grim reaper before you found what it is lol!

Thanks for the info. Like most of you I wasn't planning on buying more orchids but when I saw these I loved them. Unfortunately the green and purple one died. It had two plants in one and I tried mixing some water retention crystals in with the bark when I repotted and I think that is what killed them. I have looked at-----------------------------------. Maybe next year (sigh)
