I don't declare them...dead dead...until I have left them under a bench for a couple months and no new growth has appeared. With phals, usually I don't call them dead until they are nothing but roots with no leaves. Orchids are very hardy...

I don't declare them dead until they've spent a summer on the mulch pile or dumped in a heap somewhere in the garden where they get no attention--unless, that is, that the orchid is crunchy dead rather than just limping along. Sometimes a few of them revive. Most of them don't.

Though I know when an orchid is dead - I like the two above me, hang on to the darn thing until months after. (unless it was due to a pest like scale - then it burns right away).

    Cheers,

Well Thank you.. I have a shelf with a few of the "poor looking" plants. I don't give up on them either.
Still trying where to go to get information on this plant. Any ideas??
    Thanx again
