The blooms looked nothing like the den.speciosum and yeah, I'm sure I didn't get duped. The pictures I saw showed the whole plant and not just the blooms. From what I remember, they were more like this.

Small plant, small bloom and it may have been a hybrid or interspecies.

Is there any way to discourage keikeis from forming? I'll have to get a picture of my moms octopus plant. If we ever manage to get blooms, I'll update.

ok youve got yourself confused there....that one is Epidendrum radicans, a spindly species from south america.....The one you have looks nothing like it. The blooms on yours, should it be Dendrobium kingianum will be a rosey pinky colour, but as said earlier, it may be a kingianum hybrid.

Plant looks like this, although mine can grow 4m plus, the other colours generally grow about 40cm tops.

This one: is Kingianum, and generally, kingianum hybrids are the above described colour or white (alba)

The plant in question is far from being a speciosum, wrong shaped canes & leaves. It rarely if ever throws keikeis. If as was stated the flowers were orange, it could well be a Den. fleckeri or hybrid. This would give the orange flowers.

I know the picture I posted is a Epidendrum, I wasn't saying that what I have just thats what color the blooms are on mine. I know its not a registered variety of anything, I think the greenhouse I bought it from made the cross themselves. I'm just glad to get a family ID so I can at least learn how to care for it properly.
Kinda disappointed that its probably a den, I can't figure out why I would have bought one if that is indeed what it is. Growing conditions are not good in North Idaho for them.
    Thanks for all the help.

Oh sorry, it sounded as though you were saying the blooms LOOKED like that....woops my bad!

Anyway, most dendrobiums i have found enjoy a dry rest during winter (about may-september here), and this stress encourages blooming. Give a bit of water now and again to keep the pbulbs from shriveling. Im not sure if Roys predicted ones are similar or cool growers, but i would keep them in a sunny, intermediate position until they bloom and an accurate ID can be given.
