Hello, I bought a Australian Dendrobium several years ago and I have lost the tag. It is about 20 inches (55 cm.) high. See:
Can someone tell me the name?
Thank you, alanrr
^^Agreed.....it may also be a varient, but until it blooms, we cant be sure. Good luck! If you live in the southern hemisphere, look for spikes about now onwards, mine is starting to spike up for a rather good show
Thanks, I live in Monterey, CA. I have a new shoot now, so I look for a spike in October or November.
that sounds about right, mine started bulking up on new growths back in christmas, so it wont be long now.....
Its a big healthy plant, thats for sure
A word of caution, some speciosums if not the majority will only flower from 12 month old growths. They have to mature properly. It will be more likely to flower from the old canes which they can do for a number of years.
Thanks for the quick identification and information, Roy!
