Default To divide orchid or not to divide that is the question

I have six Phrags. - besseae, living fire, fox valley fireball, inca fire, majestic tresses and pearcei.
Most have really taken off since I've been taking better care of them with the advice of several folks here. All but the majestic tresses (which insists on staying the size of a seedling after 2 years) and the pearcei, are producing offsprings. Should they be divided? If so, how? Any advantages or disadvantages to doing this? I like the way a couple of them are beginning to look with multiple plants and I'm finding the thought of dividing them a bit intimidating.
    Thanks again.

Don't divide yet, Bob. Let them grow and bloom a few years before considering dividing. The plant needs the old growth to mature the new growths. Once your plants are putting out several new growths a year, then consider dividing. JMHO.

Thanks Bruce, I hadn't thought of that. Sounds logical and eases my mind. Hopefully by the time they're mature, in relation to caring for phrags., I will be too.
They divide several times in one year? I wouldn't have thought they grow that fast. The bloom on my pearcei has grown only 1/16" in the past 6 weeks.

No, they do not grow that fast. A mature plant will not start putting out several growths a year until it is quite large. Usually expect one growth per year. You will repot a couple of times before you should consider dividing.
