Default Identifying a Philippine Miniature Specie

Hi to everyone! I am Raul from the City of Baguio, Philippines and I have a collection of some Philippine orchids.

I am trying to identify this miniature Philippine Orchid I have secured from Benguet. Its a cool growing variety that seems to be closely related to the Dendrochilium Cobianum or Filiforme. Spikes the same as well as flowers look the same but is mini form. Flower is as big as an American nickel.

    Thank you.

Welcome Raul! Hopefully one of our many members from the Philippines will be able to identify this for you. We have lots of members who grow the orchids of the Philippines so hang in there.

    Cheers,
    BD

Dendrochilum uncatum, a species that is also found in Taiwan.

By the way Raul, you may want to use the term 'species', as there is no such word as 'specie'.

    Happy orchid keeping!

[QUOTE=mr. suarez;243067]Dendrochilum uncatum, a species that is also found in Taiwan.

    Hello Walter and All,

I am now attaching a photo of the Miniature Dendrochilium that I recently took. It really doesn't look like the Dendrochilum uncatum that I see. I have the Cobianum and Filiforme and these are larger sized orchids than this Mini.

So, I am still curious as to what the name is, it really doesn't grow from this size as I have seen its dead back bulbs still have the same size. I am putting my fingers to show scale.

    Hoping this helps. THANK YOU!

This Dendrochilum just goes to show that real precious gems come in small packages. Love these. AL
