What do you do after re potting a plant? Do you water as usual, put in less light, mist, not water or something else? I am confused.

Depending on the plant and the conditions. Usually I soak the mix so it is very wet when potting and then after putting the plant and mix in the pot, I run fresh water through the mix and let the plant set where it will drain. I introduce the orchid plant to its normal conditions after that.

    Cheers,

Dave, I have heard different people say different things like not to water a plant for 10 days to two weeks after repotting, but I think you have to look at your environment. I follow what Bruce and Kathi indicated.

I run water through after potting just to see that everything is settled and then water the plant again when it needs it. In my climate, if I waited two weeks, I'd have plants that more resembled toast than orchids!

I also keep misting them, because I figure the plant went through enough shock in the repotting and still needs the humidity that all its brothers need who didn't go through the shock of repotting. I figure we should optimize conditions when we stress them, rather than add to the stress.

I'm no expert, though, and will welcome other information!
