Default having Orchids in the Philippines

Hi, I'm Hubie and I'm new in this forum. Living on a island in the Philippines I fell in love with the Orchids here and started a garden. After I got the message out that I’m buying plants the surrounding neighbors brought me a lot of different Orchids. Somebody just dropped a bundle of plants on my doorstep and I have to figure out what they are (I’m lost there) The hard part is to figure out which plants need sun, shadow or between. Then there are the roots another mystery. I’m wondering if anybody can help me to figure this out.
    Thanks - Hubie

In philippines keeping orchids in full sun is not an option, as the heat and the sun intensity is to high i keep all my orchids in the partial shade and 3 times a day with water misting

    welcome Hubie!
well, all your Dendrobium in the pots look healthy, so dont change anything. your last pix is a Vanda hybrid, which can take even full sun for a few hours.
so in general, Vanda, Arachnis, Renanthera needs as much light as possible and a few species thrive in full sun.
hope that helps for a start.

Great advice from Ron. Hubie as Ron has said your orchids look good and I like the way you have displayed them. I believe you will save room this way for more orchids. AL

Is that a Bamboo pole? That's a very nice way to display plants. I used to have a straight drift wood with metal rings mounted on it. Like a basketball ring. Anyway, you're plants are beautiful.

Size: 168.2 KBreading all the input at the forum helped me a lot to take care my orchids. The pole is just a small amount of plants. Today i have to move six more poles to a less sunny area thanks to your advise. To show you how I end up with orchids I attached a picture of a bundle which somebody sold me for $5.00. The challenge is to figure out which of them like shadow, pots or coconut husk on a wall.
