A miniture Phal was mine. Bought for £4.99 at a local garden center So now i here surely thats not your most expensive one. Well a week after i bought it i took it into the bathroom and started the tap to give it a good soaking. That cost me £3137.83 I placed it the sink and heard a tremendous bang knowing my daughter was on the landing i immediatly left the bathroom and run to her finding absolutley nothing wrong she had decided to throw something down the stairs. Forgetting about the mini Phal i went downstairs and succeeded in flooding the whole first floor of my house causing plaster damage, electrical damage and much more. So all in all the little Phal cost me £3142.82 Not bad for a little mini Phal haha i can now laugh about it.

I have to agree with scrubber. It was my first orchid, probably in 1968. It cost $1.25. It was a walkeriana hybrid cross and was responsible for several collections, bought, sold, killed and yet......

For a good orchid rush I go to IOSP. Always helps me to get my heart go a bit faster. It's a lot cheaper then to take the car for a spin to the orchid grower....

Well, my most expensive orchid must be in weight. Just a few small leaves from Platystele orectoglossa which was not more then two gram for €15,- ($21,-). It turned out to be a good return on investment. Scince three years it hasn't stopped flowering and from a few leaves it is now a full mature plant with lots of flowers of 1 mm big!!!
