Nicki, Rich Weise had a Phal Green Star 8000 CR on a posting in May of last year.
What a beautiful flower!! I wouldn't mind one of those, myself!

This is a discussion on ID's for the parents of these crosses? within the General Orchid Culture forums, part of the Orchid Culture category; I'm trying to find the parents to the hybrids I have. I've found a few ...
I'm trying to find the parents to the hybrids I have. I've found a few but could use some help with a couple.
Feel free to correct me if I am writing them wrong.
I have a Phal Timothy Christopher. I've seen this as a cross between Phal. Amabilis and Phal. Cassandra. And also a cross between Cassandra and Aphrodite.
How do I know which is correct?
Does anyone have a Phal. Green Star 8000 CR? I can't find anything on this other than photos.
Anyone have a Mokara Salaya Gold?
(btw all this time i thought Mokara was part of the name while assuming it was a Vanda plant. just saw that Mokara is a cross between Ascocentrum, Vanda and Arachnis. oops )
Timothy Christopher is Cassandra x aphrodite. Cassandra x amabilis is I-Hsin Timothy Christopher. I can see where there might be some confusion.
Lower case a for both aphrodite and amabilis... they are species, not hybrids.
I don't know anything about Phal. Green Star 8000 CR except that it is not a registered hybrid.
You can access the RHS registry database to look up hybrid parents etc. here... The International Orchid Register / RHS Gardening
Thanks Patty, I asked Rich. I think it's just one of many hybrids popping up that will remain a mystery. He did tell me it has long lasting flowers so that will make up for it
Thank you for the correction Kirk.
Thanks for the ID on the Mokara Bruce! I looked up that Phal and that is not mine. Pretty though.
I couldn't resist the green color, and it even had a tag. afterwards I found out that it is not registered in the RHS database. the original source told me it was a "new" hybrid. However, as this place seems like a generic wholesaler it wouldn't surprise me if there was no such official registration. still a nice green flower though.
