    Looks like Paph callosum.
More info about size , multifloral etc would be useful.

    Oh! Of course.

It's got mottled leaves, that is the only bloom on a fuzzy stem, and it's about 4 inches tall and 4 1/2 inches wide (the bloom).

Styx, that's a hybrid, one of hundreds that are similar-looking. It's going to be very hard to accurately name it, assuming the cross that produced it was even registered.

About the best you're going to be able to know, I think, is that it's a Maudiae type coloratum.

    It's a nice one, too.

Ahh. Well, at least I have a little more information then I started out with, which is perfectly fine.

    And thank you. ^^

Default I have a close one...

Very similar coloration, I can't recall the exact size of the bloom though.. it's Dragon Wine X Black Flame 'Black Spear'. I am not a real genealogy kind of orchid nut, so I don't know what the base species were, but I would agree that a Maud of some type is a good bet. I also have another that is similar except the dorsal has a green background, it is Macabre X Hsinging.

like louis said, impossible to ID for sure since there are a zillion that look the same way. it might be a "flame" type though, kind of an intergrade between a regular old coloratum and a bona fide vini. so-named for the lighter colored "flame" in the middle of the dorsal.
