Default Mini slice of the tropics. Orchids in bloom!

Hello all. Have done some photos of my collection focusing on the current orchids rewarding me with their beautiful blooms and their are more sppikes on the way. It has been rotated since I posted in 'members grow area' in order to show off blooms and cater for the needs of a few springing out of dormancy. Out of just over 100 , a mere 6 have decided to bloom for me in full but many spikes forming but still in young state and eagerly waiting for the catasetums and cycnoches within the next 8 weeks. will post two shots of the orchid hospital in the higher top left to show that with all hobbies their are trials and tribulations, failures and challenges.
Again sorry for the quality of the pics, its my mob. Will post over 2 - 3 submissions!

    Default cont.

Even with mounted orchids I have had root rot occurences. They are all in confinement using a similar approach to sphag and bag.

Atleast now I know that with the welcoming ease of maintaing high humidity in my grow area I no longer need to use a blanket/ pad like moss or coir when mounting and just tie the plant direct to the wood. It cost 7 orchids ( now in the hospital section) to realise this. I think maybe its airflow I need to assess if the bare mounts dont work either. The learning curves never end but i will stick with orchids, i cant see me collecting stamps and frequenting the gym!!!perish the thought!!

Jose. These are just being used as temporary mini greenhouses to care for a few root rot casulties. My version of sphag and bag! but with pop bottle, paper towel and hormone. Really works well!
