I have four different types of ferts I use:-

    1. Worm juice - the liquid stuff that's left over in the worm farm.
    2. High K fert - it's I guess the bloom fert
    3. Seasol - a "fert" made from sea weed
    4. a pink fertilizer given to me by someone in my orchid society...

I rotate the above every watering but it is diluted so weakly that I don't know if it makes a difference...

    Cheers
    Tim

I use dynamite. It a stuff found at one of the big box stores it's time release. When I bought one of my orchids at auction the grower was there and that's what he said he uses at his place up in Homestead. Just sprinkle a few pellets around each plant. The red is what I was told to use. I also occasionally mix stuff in with the water. It's blue.

Dynamite!!!! That's pretty desperate! Lots of Nitrogen though...... Oh, wait, you mean the fertilizer called Dynamite. Darn, it would have been exciting to see some photos of you sticking real dynamite into the pots and pouring water on it.. and I'm glad to see you are as technical as I am about names of stuff. I have some blue and some pink stuff too.

    Hi Diane,

I pretty much use the same fertilizer all the time. (I'll occasionally use a different one for just one application because I worry that *maybe* the one I'm using is lacking something important.) I don't really make any concessions to whether or not a plant is blooming, in part, because I'm simply too lazy to make up a separate, different fertilizer for those in bloom. I do add epsom salts but only because my fertilizer doesn't have Mg listed as an ingredient.

    Cheers,

    Rob

I kind of switch off between two or three different kinds. I also try to remember to use a little seaweed extract stuff each time I fertilize. I don't always though. It seemed when I first started using that stuff I saw a big improvement in overall growth. Who knows. It was free.

:good: Wow! we can get another thread started talking about Epsom Salts! I use them as well. I mix it in a 1 parts to 10 ratio with water, and then add a tsp of that mixture in with my regular fertilzer.
