    Brilliant great idea! I was thinking where can i find clay saucers to try this one, then it came to my mind that i had a huge clay pot of the other plant was broken into pieces by the typhoon 2 weeks ago. so maybe i can use the bigger pieces and try this on! Can't wait do see the results! GReat! Thanks a lot for sharing!

    A great advantage in my growing conditions : less watering ! I'm not a fan of watering.
    So (always in my conditions), plants grow better in a saucer. In fact, it's like a potted orchid but with a plant habit that is very natural as a mounted orchid.

    Just the fact that you can soak the clay and create extra humidity is a big plus. The saucers will soak up a ton of water and release it over several days to a week or so depending on the growing conditions where they are hung.

    Since I like the looks of it, I mounted my Ascocentrum curvifolium with this way. Eric, thank you for sharing.

    I am still hesitant togrow phals since they only last one season for me.
